Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling endorsed Donald Trump for President at an event in New Hampshire yesterday flanked by his wife Shonda and daughter Gabby, who both gave brief remarks of support before the candidate took the stage. The event was live-streamed by Right Side Broadcasting Network (Right Wing Watch)
“I am here because I am all in on the Mr. Trump train. He’s bold, he’s brash, and he’s willing to do what needs to be done,” Schilling said before introducing Trump, adding that “he can change the country after the last eight years.” (USA Today)
Schilling echoed those sentiments during a speech at the rally for Trump as he blasted Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton as a liar who cared about herself and her family only — not middle-class Americans, whom she would fleece with increased taxes. The former baseball star led cheers from fans of “Hillary for prison 2016!” and “Trump! Trump! Trump!” At one point, an audience member shouted “Kill her!” — but Schilling didn’t agree with who the audience member wanted to be killed.
“That’s not how you fix it,” he said, according to a tweet from WBZ reporter Nicole Jacobs, who was in the room when the comment was made. “You know for a fact that I’m not going to do that.” He added: “The only place Hillary Clinton should be living is in a jail cell,” before leading another “lock her up!” chant.
