Lady Gaga was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 28th, 1986, in New York City. Her father’s family is from Sicily, Italy while her mother’s family is from Brooklyn in New York City. She has one sister named Natali. Before she became famous, she played music with other young singers from time to time at small bars. But it was only when fame came upon her did she start to write and sing some of the most popular songs of all time.
Her first song “Just Dance” was released on August 19th, 2008. She quickly became very popular after the release of this song. And she did not stop there but instead continued writing and singing more especially when her second single “Poker Face” became a hit around the world in September 2008. This made many people love her style and started following her journey to fame closely until they realized that she had become one of the most famous singers of America within just 6 months since releasing her first song on YouTube
Lady Gaga’s third single entitled “Bad Romance” was released April 29th, 2009, which also gained popularity instantly. It reached number 1 in many countries, including the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. Lady Gaga has since released five albums. Her fourth studio album Artpop was popular in 2013. It was said that she changed her style to more electronic for this album. The next year 2014, Lady Gaga surprised her fans by releasing a jazz-inspired album called Cheek to Cheek where she sang with other famous singers like Tony Bennett. This album topped US jazz charts after its launch in September 2014
Lady Gaga’s unique style makes people love her music very much. She sometimes changes herself through makeup or dresses up like an animal while singing on TV shows or at concerts leading to interesting things happening around the world every time she releases a new song. Her style of music is said to have been inspired by artists like David Bowie and Queen.
Lady Gaga holds the world record as the first artist whose album has over one billion Likes on Facebook. In early 2016, she became an American citizen after becoming an immigrant in 2012. During this period, she launched her own social networking service Tidal which was well received by critics but failed to compete with other social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
